The way that mugs are typically presented raises cleanliness and even sanitisation concerns, consciously or unconsciously.
Guests do not know how many days it is since a bedroom has been occupied and uncovered mugs (the right way up) have been open to dust and possibly insects. That is why glasses in bedrooms commonly have paper covers.
Hotels that invert the mugs have the arguably worse situation of each mug rim resting on a tray or, in some cases, a furniture surface. Others rest the mug on a napkin.
TEAPY T-4-1 solves all these problems, the TEAPY lid covering the mug and retaining a teaspoon, and providing a receptacle for the used tea bag or used infuser (if loose leaf tea is provided).
